The brief
I started working with First Sight Media after an existing contact joined the company and asked me to help shake up the way the brand looked and felt.
Working across video, streaming and events, the business needed an identity that reflected the technical side of what they do without feeling overly corporate. The aim was to bring more life, movement and personality into the brand while keeping it professional, confident and easy to use.
Rather than starting again, I saw an opportunity to build a much stronger visual language around the existing identity.
The work
A broader visual system using colour, typography, gradients, graphic devices and iconography to give First Sight Media a more distinctive and flexible way to communicate.
The vibrant secondary colour palette helps differentiate areas of the business, while the colour-burn gradients introduced movement and energy. Bold typography gave communications more impact, supported by a set of graphic devices and icons that could work consistently across print and digital.
I brought the system together in a comprehensive set of brand guidelines covering logo use, colour, typography, visual devices, imagery, icons and practical applications.
Since then I’ve applied and developed the identity across a wide range of work including printed communications, social content, digital graphics, infographics, exhibition material and event collateral.
The outcome
The result was a much broader and more usable visual identity without losing the recognition First Sight Media had already built.
The guidelines gave the team a clear framework to work from, while leaving enough flexibility for the brand to adapt across very different formats and audiences.
What started as a project to refresh the brand also became a long-term working relationship. I continue to work with First Sight Media today, helping develop and apply the identity as the business and its communications evolve.
